Frond Cutting


This is the time when I cut back all the tatty fronds from the evegreen ferns and expose the tight russet crown rich with promise for the coming year. Seriously, I do find the unpacking of the fronds each spring to be one of the most awe-inspiring aspects of the garden (or indeed countryside).
